Matt Maran is an award-winning photographer whose passion for wildlife and landscapes has taken him all over the world. His photographs of animals range from Alaskan bears to South East Asian Primates whilst his landscape photography covers many terrains - soda lakes, glacial rivers and primeval forests. Based in London, he has captured images from as far afield as the Amazonian rainforests to studies nearer home of Hampstead Heath, Richmond Park and the New Forest.

PHILOSOPHY
Matt is an active supporter of global conservation efforts. His ambition, through his photography, is to build on his knowledge and contribute sensitively to raise awareness of the essential need for positive environmental policy change.

PUBLICATIONS/AWARDS
Matt’s work has been published in films, books, magazines and conservation journals. He was presented with a Highly Commended award in the Landscape category of ‘The European Wildlife Photographer Of The Year’ competition, 2005 (click here to view the image), and most recently, his work was published in the Travel Photographer Of The Year, ‘Journey Two’ hardback book.

EXHIBITIONS

EDUCATION
Matt presents slide shows and photographic workshops for both adults and children. He visits schools and universities sharing first-hand experiences and covering a wide range of topics from animal behaviour and conservation through to travel and culture.
