Blog England Hampstead Heath London United Kingdom Workshop

The first workshop of 2018 and we had a beautiful but chilly day on the Heath. When focusing on a subject for even just a few minutes the cold can really set in without you realising it. But the group survived the temperature to produce a great selection of images below.

Alenka persevered and captured this great moment of animal behaviour showing a ring-rosed parakeet exiting a nest hole
Richard framed this lovely close-up shot of the bright moss standing out against the darker wood
Mel made brilliant use of the highlights in this shot, capturing the bright colour of the dead beech leaves against the monochromatic background
A nice perspective of this one from Bevis looking down on the oak trunk with a shallow depth of field
Making use of the strong morning light Lucy captured the lovely shadow patterns across the woodland floor
Vasia framed the detail of this oak beautifully, using the soft-focus background to show the texture of the bark in the context of a woodland
Alex's close up of turkey tale fungi shows just how much colour can be found in the woods in the middle of winter. The portrait framing gave this image nice depth too.
Matthias shows off the architecture of this great oak tree with a wide angle lens and creative framing against the bright blue sky.
