Pine Marten Release

In October I was commissioned by Rewilding Europe to shoot stills, video and drone for the South Cumbria Pine Marten Recovery Project.

Pine martens are a natural part of Cumbria’s landscape and are valued by many as an integral element of the region’s wildlife heritage. They play a vital role in maintaining healthy forests by regulating small mammal populations and preying on invasive grey squirrels. This, in turn, helps limit the spread of squirrel pox virus and supports the recovery of native red squirrel populations.

This initiative is delivered in partnership with the University of Cumbria, Forestry England, the University of Leeds, The Lifescape Project, and Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
