Talking with Kev Morgans

ABOUT KEV MORGANS

Kev Morgans is a multi-award-winning wildlife photographer, guide, and conservation storyteller specialising in the seabirds and wild coastlines of the British Isles. Best known for his work with Atlantic puffins and his book Puffins: Life on the Atlantic Edge, Kev uses powerful imagery to inspire connection, awareness, and protection of the natural world.

His work is rooted in respect for nature, always placing the welfare of wildlife first and working with a strong ethical approach in the field. Through authentic, story-driven imagery, Kev aims to reveal not just what wildlife looks like, but how it lives, survives, and adapts in some of the UK’s most remote and challenging environments.

Seabirds sit at the heart of Kev’s photography, with years spent documenting their behaviour, resilience, and fragile future. This long-term dedication has earned international recognition, including the Portfolio Prize in Bird Photographer of the Year, helping bring wider attention to the pressures facing marine wildlife.

Alongside his photography, Kev is a respected tour leader and mentor, running workshops and one-to-one guidance across the UK. His teaching combines fieldcraft, creative vision, and conservation awareness, helping photographers of all levels develop a deeper connection with nature and their own storytelling voice.

We talk about Kev’s sharp rise to becoming a full time photographer, the pressure that brings, forgetting tents and cheese toasties!
